Lionel Messi's diagnosis of covid-19, released on the 2nd of this month by PSG, still reverberates in the European press - and even among sportsmen.
Frenchman Jerome Rothen, who played for the Parisian team in the late 2000s, was one of those who reacted to the news of the Argentine's infection. In an interview with Montecarlo radio, the former player accused the striker, who has already tested negative and returned to training, of "hiding" the disease to the club's board.
"You always have to respect your coach, that's what I was taught. The coach must be above everyone else, no matter if you are a star or a youth player. [Mauricio] Pochettino [PSG coach] has not been updated on Messi's situation", he began.
In the sequence, Rothen, who recently shot at Neymar's physical form, stated that shirt 30 is "disrespecting" the commander, who is also Argentine.
"This is not good and I think it is very shocking on Messi's part. Pochettino is being disrespected by him. The coach must be the strong man, the one who shows the true values", concluded the former player to the radio. REPORT ERROR.
