On Saturday 11 December at the International Conference Hall in Nagoya, Japan, Kosei Tanaka will meet Sho Ishida in a 10-round bantamweight bout.

Here is some interesting news that has escaped the cracks. On Friday, former three-time champion Kosei Tanaka announced a December 11 clash with former title rival Shaw Ishida in Nagoya.

The 26-year-old Tanaka (15-1.9 KOs) claimed her first world title in her fifth Pro fight, losing to Julian Yedras for the minimum WBO belt. After stopping Vic Saludar in his only defense, he proceeded to take the Light Flyweight title from Moises Fuentes. Before defeating Shaw Kimura for the flyweight belt at the All-Time Slagfest, he defended the belt twice, including a loss to Angel Acosta.

The three defensive reigns ended with the move to 115, where it eventually fell to the deadly Kazuto Ioka.

Ishida (29-2, 15 KOs) enjoyed a solid run as the Japanese champion before unsuccessfully challenging Kal Yafai for the WBA title in 2017. Since then he has won five of six with the only loss being a split decision by the multiple- time world title. His rival Israel Gonzalez. He's a tough comeback foe for Tanakar, who hasn't been one of the best in the business but remains a very talented and entertaining fighter.
